Walter D. Woolley, Jr., 91, passed away at his home in Goldendale on December 27, 2017. He was born on February 18, 1926 in Cle Elum, Washington to Helen (Markovich) and Walter D. Woolley, Sr. Walter served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Indiana and Germany. On May 19, 1951 he married Lil Jacobs in Seattle, Washington. Mr. Woolley worked in maintenance for Northwest Airlines and was an eighth-grade teacher in Goldendale for 25 years before retiring. He was a member of the Goldendale Lions Club, Golf Club and a life-member of the American Legion. Walter enjoyed hunting for pheasants, fishing, golfing and traveling to Canada and Reno, Nevada. He is survived by his wife Lil Woolley of Goldendale; daughters Debbie Woolley Keeling and Susan Woolley Steltz both of Selah, Washington, and Janice Woolley Coder of Goldendale; sons Scott Woolley of Yakima, Washington and Thomas Woolley of Goldendale; four grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. A graveside service will be held at the Cle Elum Cemetery at 11 a.m. on May 6, 2018.
