Charles Scott Weathers unexpectedly passed away in his home in Hood River, Oregon March 26th, 2018. He was 70 years young.
Scott was born July 1, 1947. Scott was the oldest son of Charles Ira Weathers and Bette S Weathers (Scrogin). He also had a younger brother Doug. He was preceded in passing by his mother, father and brother as well as his lifetime partner and loving wife Margaret Weathers (Duckwall) who passed April 8th, 2015. He is survived by his son Charles “Ed” Weathers of Hood River.
Scott worked the majority of his career at the cannery in Hood River for Diamond Fruit Growers.
Scott loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting with his family. Some of their favorite locations included the Deschutes, East Lake, and the Oregon Coast where his parents resided after retiring. Scott and Margaret also loved vacationing in Puerto Vallarta Mexico every January. Scott and Margaret also looked forward to annual vacations with classmates and lifelong friends they affectionately coined “The Sunriver 7”. Scott and Margaret were season ticket holders and enjoyed tailgating with friends and family at OSU football games in Corvallis, Oregon. Scott was a volunteer firefighter in Hood River and later at the Westside fire Department.
In memory of Scott donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the Westside Fire Department, Hood River, Oregon or to Celilo Cancer Center The Dalles, Oregon in memory of his loving wife Margaret.
Graveside services are planned for 11 a.m. Saturday May 12th at Idlewilde Cemetery in Hood River, Oregon.
