Obituary of Patricia Colton
Pat Colton passed away at her home in Underwood, Washington on September 18, 2017. She was 84 years old. Born in Rochester, New York on April 18, 1933, Patricia Irene was the daughter of Irene (Guentner) and Cornelius L. Mance. She grew up in Rochester and graduated from high school there. In 1963 she married Richard Colton in Miami, Florida. In Florida, Pat raised orchids, and when she travelled to the Northwest to visit a fellow orchid enthusiast, she discovered Underwood. She and Dick later moved to Underwood where they ran a small orchard. Pat was a very active member of her community, involved with Friends of the Library, Skamania County EMTs, and helping to maintain county cemeteries. She served on the boards of Skamania County's Hospital District, Planning Commission and Equalization Board. She loved reading, gardening and caring for her grandchildren. Pat is survived by her children Alan Camp and his wife Brenda of Underwood, Jennifer Colton Talbott and her husband Rory of Underwood, Patty Schmid and her husband David of Phoenix, Arizona and Stephen Camp and his wife Linda of Coconut Creek, Florida; as well as three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Berge Cemetery in Home Valley, Washington.
