Derek moved from Nebraska to Hood River, Oregon when he was a teenager. Funeral service is a second career for him--he worked in construction before retiring the tool belt. Derek graduated from the Mt. Hood Community College's Mortuary Science program in 1998. In 2007, he, along with his wife Domonique, purchased Erdman Funeral Home in Goldendale, Washington and renamed it Columbia Hills Memorial Chapel. In his spare time, Derek likes to fish, work on motorcycles and spend time with his friends and family--especially his grandchildren Alaina, Wyatt, Boden, Greyson and Petra.
Domonique comes from a long line of funeral directors; her great grandparents, grandparents and parents all retired from funeral service. She and her husband, Derek, have three grown children. When she isn't working, she likes to read and spend time with family--especially her granddaughters Alaina and Petra and grandsons Wyatt, Boden and Greyson.
Jon Bilderback - Assistant
Jon mainly works at Columbia Hills Memorial Chapel in Goldendale. He is instrumental in assisting people and keeping the facility in top shape. Jon helps on first calls, memorial and funeral services and also sets headstones for the families who order them from us. Jon has two daughters, whom he loves to spend time with.

Victoria, previously from the Portland area, recently moved to the Gorge and began working with us at the end of July, 2018. As a licensed funeral director and embalmer, she is a great asset to the team. Her kind and upbeat attitude makes everyone around her happier. Victoria and her family enjoy all the outdoor activities the area can offer and love to go on adventures together.
