Obituary of Raymond Leo Ingraham
Raymond (Ray) Leo Ingraham, 85, passed away October 30, 2021, at his home in Goldendale, Washington. He was born December 4, 1935, in Goldendale to parents Frank and Hazel Rose (Rhoads) Ingraham. Ray grew up on the family farm next to the little Klickitat River where his grandparents homesteaded. He joined the United States Marine Corp., along with his brother-in-law/best friend Gary Fields. Ray served from 1953 to 1960, earning the rank of Sergeant and serving in the Korean War. Ray married his wife, Donna Jean (Fields) Ingraham on March 18, 1960 and the couple was blessed with 3 children, Robert Alan, Karen Rae, and Sharon Kay Ingraham. After their children left home, Ray and Donna began raising their grandchildren, Frank and Brandi. Ray worked as Traffic Control Supervisor for Klickitat County Road Department, maintaining road signs and bridges within Klickitat County. He was a very talented man. He held many different jobs and excelled at all of them. He enjoyed building and remodeling houses with his wife. Ray also volunteered for the Goldendale Fire Department for 25 years before he retired. He was given the honors of fire fighter of the year and Goldendale Citizen of the month. He was a member of the Goldendale American Legion and loved spending time with his family, hunting, and fishing. Ray spent many weekends either at the river or in the mountains. The Blue Mountains was his favorite place to elk hunt. He enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren about the outdoors. Ray will be missed by his wife, Donna Ingraham of Goldendale; brother Bud Ingraham of Packwood, Washington; daughter Sharon Kay Ingraham of Baker City, Oregon; grandchildren: Frank Alan Ingraham of Wishram, Washington, Brandi Kay (Ingraham) McClanahan and her husband Richard of Goldendale, Shai Lynn (Ingraham) Mayo of Baker City, and Justin Edward Ingraham of Goldendale; great grandchildren Dakota Ray Allen Ingraham and Braylen Earl Mayo; along with too many nieces and nephews to count. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Robert Alan Ingraham, daughter Karen Rae Ingraham, sisters Cathy Ingraham, Frances Tucker, Margie Harley, Shirley Ingraham and brothers James, Richard, Larry, and Ronald Ingraham. A memorial graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Mountain View Cemetery in Goldendale. Following the service there will be a gathering at the Legion.
