Robert Lee Klaus, 85, passed away at home in Husum, WA on December 16, 2021. Bob was born on May 21, 1936 in Prineville, OR and was the youngest son of Milton Arnold Klaus and Katherine Elizabeth Laisure. He married Roberta McKean on July 18, 1960 in Salt Lake City, UT.
Bob was a hard worker and willing to learn any job to support his family. His work took the family to a number of locations including, Fairbanks, AK, back to Prineville, OR, Woodland, WA and eventually to Husum, WA where he spent the final 23 years of his life. He loved to build things and constructed a number of houses, including the home in Husum. In his later years, he enjoyed woodworking and made hundreds of bowls, platters and dishes. He would often invite visitors to take a “Crafted by Bob Klaus” item home when they came to the house.
Bob was a member of the Mount Adams Baptist Church in Trout Lake and served as a deacon in the leadership. He was always willing to help others and lend a hand when needed.
Bob is survived by his wife, Roberta, daughter Debby Lommasson (Dale), and sons, Rick (Jolynn) and Ron (Karen) Klaus. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter Cathy.
