Obituary of Ray Irving Gosney

Ray Irving Gosney, born December 23, 1926 in Goldendale, Washington to Frank Ray Gosney and Ida Georgia Lefever Gosney. He went to live with his Heavenly Father and Best Friend the Lord Jesus Christ on September 9, 2022 in Yakima, Washington at the age of 95. He attended school in Goldendale and graduated from Goldendale High School. After High School, Ray assisted his parents with Meadowlark dairy. He also worked at the theatre in Goldendale. On June 21, 1953, he married Mary E. Cross in Coupeville, Washington. They were married 69 years. For 1 year they lived in Tacoma while Ray finished his BA degree in Theology. Ray was an active rancher of alfalfa, wheat and cattle, having bought his grandfather’s ranch northwest of Goldendale. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, a 75 year member of Alimus Odd Fellows Lodge and a charter member of Washington Simmental Association Board. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Ida Gosney, and daughter Inez (Mark) Crawford. His is survived by his wife Mary Gosney, daughters Jacqueline (Charley) Chapman, Colleen (Antonio) Bucio, 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank all the caregivers at Highgate House Yakima for their excellent care and support. Funeral service will be held this Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Columbia Hills Memorial Chapel in Goldendale, Washington with a committal at Mt. View cemetery to follow.
