Patricia Ann Kreps (PK), 86, passed away peacefully on Feb 16th, 2023 after a struggle with Dementia. She was a long term resident of White Salmon, WA and passed away while staying in Hood River, OR at Providence Brookside. Patty was born March 6, 1936 in Oregon City, OR to Richard R. Reaksecker and Dorothy A. Reaksecker (Ashbrook). She was the oldest of three children. She attended high school in Camas, WA but graduated from Columbia High School in, White Salmon, WA in 1954. Shortly after graduating she married the love of her life who she met in White Salmon, Russell “Bodge” W. Kreps. They married August 14, 1955 in a ceremony on his family’s ranch in the Gilmore Valley. Patty was an all-star Fast Pitch Softball player. She was a pitcher who acquired many trophies over the years and enjoyed the sport and being an athlete. In her later years, she became an avid golfer who enjoyed international travel to play on some of the worlds best courses. Her life as a homemaker brought her the skills and joy of sewing, which lent to many pieces that extended beyond her own family and into the community. She kept herself occupied and took pride in keeping a well-kept landscaped yard. Patty was an active member of the Elks Club, volunteered in various community services over the years, such as; Blood Mobile, Community Benefit Dinner, and the Election Board. She also helped the local high school in keeping statistics for basketball games for many years. Patty also worked at the local jewelry store, Runyan’s, for many years where she acquired many beautiful pieces that she was proud of. She is survived by her four children; R. Howard Kreps of White Salmon, WA, Glenda (Steven) Donaldson of Dayton, OH, Amy (Martin) Gaddis of Glenwood, WA and Jodi (Todd) Alferd of Vancouver, WA, half-brother, five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Patty was preceded in death by her husband, Bodge in 1979. Both her parents and sister Wanda. Celebration of life will be held on February 21st, 2023 at the White Salmon Elks Lodge at 2pm. The celebration is open for all who would like to come show their respect, share their memories, and/or any stories with Patty. The family is asking in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Patricias name to the Alzheimer's Association. The family would like to thank Providence Brookside and her medical team for their wonderful and generous care during her battle with Dementia. As well as her extended family and friends for their continued well wishes, support, and concerns for Patty in her final days.
