Obituary of Diana Carol Sanders
Our beloved Mother, Grandmother & Great Grandmother (aka Gramma D to just about everybody she met), joined the Love of her Life Don & our Lord on a beautiful, clear Trout Lake morning on Saturday March 23rd. She was surrounded by loved ones and had every last wish in this life fulfilled.
A true pillar of the Trout Lake community and an elder in the Trout Lake Presbyterian Church, loved by her friends, family, friends of the family, animals (except Lexi, her last Rottweiler-she was touched)! She leaves a hole in many hearts larger than can be measured. Whether she was writing the music for Sunday’s service, gently swatting a naughty grandchild or any Tulip Picker that chose her garden or engaging in a vicious kitchen towel-snapping battle, she always had a ready laugh and smile. Always.
An avid bell ringer at Christmas time, the greenest of green thumb gardeners, the host of the annual Ornament Exchange Party and world-renowned Chinese Food Lover. When in the kitchen, if she wasn’t kissing and dancing with her beloved husband Don, she loved to cook & bake and teach her kids and grandkids to as well. If you had to describe her love affair with her husband Don, you could do it with one Willie Nelson song---“On the Road Again”. They loved to hook up to the trailer or boat and just GO! They were consummate Snow birders and reveled in sending her family pictures of Yuma, AZ or Monument Valley in January when we were cold and wet, and they were collecting sunshine and memories! And did those two have fun!
Diana definitely had two families, her blood and extended by marriage family and her Trout Lake family-she was loved by all and will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her sister Judy Crosby (Ivan), daughter Tracy DeBus (James), daughter Amy Schenck (Keith), Son Rick Sanders (Claire) and Daughter Jeannie Sanders. Also loved and missed by her 8 Grandchildren and 7 Greatgrandchildren.
