Orie Garrett

Obituary of Orie Grant Garrett

Orie Grant Garrett was born in Gravity, Iowa on October 9, 1925 to Jessie (Finch) and Clyde Garrett.  When he was a child, Orie’s family moved to Mill-A, Washington from Iowa.  Orie attended Stevenson High School until World War II broke out, whereupon he quickly enlisted in the Navy.  Orie was so young that his mother had to sign a release before he joined the Navy.  Surviving the war, Orie returned home where he met and married Delores Breedlove.  They made their home in Northwestern Lake and Underwood, Washington.

Orie worked for Skamania County Road Department until his retirement.  He also ranched and built logging roads throughout his life.

Orie is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Sherry and Curt Esch; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his siblings, his wife Delores Garrett and his son Michael Garrett.  Orie is now in Heaven with his Lord.
