Obituary of Connor Wylie Miller-Cox
Connor Miller-Cox was born in Hood River, Oregon on April 20, 2009, brightening the world of his mother, Amy Miller, and his father, Matthew Cox. He was the first newborn cared for in the new wing of Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital.
Connor attended Whitson Elementary School and was excited to be a fifth grader. He had a quick wit and was a fun kid who enjoyed many things. His caring and thoughtfulness toward others transcended his years, and his courage inspired us. Connor loved cats, especially his lifelong friend Brutus. He loved to eat mac & cheese and wings from Everybody’s, cheese nachos from Ayutlense, Orange Chicken from Panda Express, fresh sugar snap peas, and Kit Kat bars. He loved watching movies, everything Minecraft, playing Fortnite and Roblox with his friends, and playing at the beach. He recently traveled to Hawaii where he surfed the waves and swam with dolphins, and also traveled to Orlando, Florida, where he visited the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Connor’s heroes were Spiderman, Star Wars Jedi and Dan TDM whom he met in person. He was creative and talented with computers. He spent many hours using software to build and decorate houses, record YouTube videos, and experience different occupations with his virtual reality headset.
On August 6, 2019, Connor passed away at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon, with his loving family by his side.
He will be sorely missed by his mother Amy Miller and father Matt Cox; grandparents Janice & Fred Kruse, Uncle Terry & Aunt Michele Miller-Reiss, Uncle Lance & Aunt Jennifer Kruse, Aunt Karen Kruse, Uncle Trevor Cox and family, cousins Callahan Miller-Reiss, Allie Miller-Reiss, Rylen Kruse, Kaleb Kruse, Justin Cox, Alex Cox, many close family friends, and a huge number of school age friends, educators, and health professionals that he stole the heart of.
