Obituary of Mary Sayer

MARY (DALLAS) SAYER Mary Ellen Sayer passed away in Hood River, Oregon on January 2, 2013 at the age of 77. She was born at the family home in White Salmon, Washington on December 20, 1935 to Edith Emma (Collins) and James Samuel Dallas. On April 18, 1980 she married Thomas J. Sayer in Stevenson, Washington. Mary enjoyed hobbies such as quilting, painting, ceramics and sewing. She also liked camping, fishing, doing crossword puzzles and participating in choir. Mary was a member of the Sweet Adelines. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Sayer, of White Salmon; sisters Helen Woodings of Palmer, Alaska, Dorothy Gasner of Summit, Oregon and Patricia Benjamin of Goldendale, Washington; brothers Russell Dalles of White Salmon, Washington and Norman Dallas of Oregon City, Oregon; children David McDonald of Camas, Washington, Sam McDonald of Seattle, Washington, Lester McDonald of White Salmon, Washington, Lynda Lay of Molalla, Oregon and Darrell McDonald of White Salmon; step children Gina Hoggan of Vancouver, Washington, Michelle Sayer-Holmes of Snowden, Pam Sayer of Ocean Park, Washington and Thomas Sayer of Vancouver; twenty-two grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A memorial service followed by a pot luck reception will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 12 at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon.
