MaryAnita W. Addington died at her home in Glenwood on April 19, 2021 at the age of 78. Mrs. Addington was born on June 29, 1942 in Hood River, Oregon to Sylvia (Wayne) and William Leaton, Jr. She was raised on the family ranch in Glenwood, where she was active in 4-H, showing both sheep and beef. After graduating from Glenwood, MaryAnita pursued her teaching degree from Montana State University. In the summer of 1963, MaryAnita met her future husband Vern Addington at the local gas station in Glenwood. They were married in December 1966 at the Leaton homestead. Slowly over the years they started their own cattle herd and elected to move back to the place where they married. MaryAnita enjoyed going to rodeos, going to her children/grandchildren’s sporting events, doing jigsaw puzzles and most importantly visiting with family and friends. She will be missed dearly and will be remembered for her unconditional love and support of her family. She is survived by her husband Vern Addington, Glenwood; son Bill Addington, Glenwood and daughter Vernadean Dean, Husum; sisters Claudia Hoffbauer, Florida, Faye Leaton Neff, Kettle Falls; grandchildren Kyle Dean and Alex Dean, Husum and great grandson Roy Dean, Alaska. Mrs. Addington was preceded in death by her parents and brothers James W. Leaton and Frank Leaton.
