Obituary of Jenny Ruth Vicente

Jenny Ruth Vicente was born January 17, 1989 in White Salmon, WA, to Fructuoso and Olivia Pulido. Jenny, as the only surviving daughter, immediately became the center of not only her parents, but also her 4 older brother’s world. Jenny attended Columbia High School, where she played basketball and volleyball and was a friend to many. She met the love of her life, Walter Vicente, her senior year. Jenny and Walter’s story is truly that out of a fairy tale. Early in their relationship, Jenny had a red Jeep that she would drive Walter remembers affectionately. She was known as the JP with the red Jeep. After her graduation, Jenny worked for the US Forest Service, in the recreational division, while Walter began he his career with the US Forest Service Wild Land Fire Division. On December 16th of 2009, Jenny and Walter became husband wife, in a beautiful winter themed ceremony, supported by their families and friends. Jenny’s passion in life was her family; Her greatest joy and proudest accomplishments are her 3 beautiful children, Sofia, Elijah and Westley. Jenny was that mom, the one who cared for her own children, while also mothering and caring for any other child, or person for that matter, in need. Jenny was her mother’s, Olivia, primary caretaker, until she started to transition out of that role as her health declined. However, Jenny never stopped caring for her mom. Her love for her family was evident in all the of acts of service she provided to each of them. She knew when you needed a person to just listen, or if you needed advice, she was quick to help and love and never judged. Jenny never met a stranger as she would talk to anyone and was always looking to make people smile. She loved a good joke and would take any opportunity to dance and be silly. Jenny’s love of the Lord was prevalent in all of her actions. Her faith only strengthened as she became ill and never faltered, even as she progressively got weaker. Jenny would say, as she would speak to people, please do not worry, the Lord has a greater plan for all of us and he will provide. Her favorite bible verse was Psalm 91, which she carried with her at all times. Verse 15, He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. She was not someone to say good bye and she wanted no one to be sad about her situation, she would tell you to smile, say a prayer and be happy. Jenny’s battle with cancer sadly ended on Tuesday May 11th. She left behind her best friend and husband Walter, their 3 beautiful children, Sofia, Elijah, and Westley, her parents Fructuoso and Olivia Pulido, and her brothers Jesus (Schlee), Juan (Maria), Jimmy (Kristine), and Josabet (Ana) Pulido. The void of her passing will forever be felt by her 10 nieces and nephews. Jenny was proceeded in death by her sister, Lorena Olivia Pulido and nephew, John Andrew Pulido as well as her grandparents, Nicolas Zamora and Engracia Ramos and María Jesús Álvarez and José Jesús Pulido. A Funeral Service, in Memory of Jenny, will be held on Friday May 14, 2021 at 11:00am, at the Gardner Funeral Home, 1270 N Main Ave, White Salmon, WA, with Pastor Woodruff, of Hood River Seventh Day Adventist Officiating.
